Picture this if you will. 10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my need-to-know post just outside Area 51 Contemplating the whole chosen people thingy when just then a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this Cutting right angle doughnuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks and me yelping... HOLY FUCKING SHIT Holy fucking shit Fucking shit Holy fucking shit Holy fucking shit Holy fucking shit...fucking shit...fucking shit Then the X-Files being, looking like some kinda blue-green Jackie Chan With Isabella Rossellini lips and breath that reeked of vanilla chig champa Did a slow-mo Matrix decent outta the butt end of the banana vessel and hovered above my bug-eyes, My gaping jaw, And my sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip, And all I could think was, I hope Uncle Quark here doesn't notice That I pissed my fucking pants. So light in his way Like an apparition, He had me crying out, Fuck me! It's gotta be the Deadhead chemistry! The blotter got right on top of me Got me seeing E motherfucking T! And after calming me down with some orange slices and some fetal spooning E.T. revealed to me his singular purpose, He said you are the chosen one. The one who will deliver the message. A message of hope for those who choose to hear it And a warning for those who do not. Me, the chosen one They chose me And I didn't graduate from fucking high school! You had better You had better You had better You had better listen Then he looked right through me With somniferous almond eyes Don't even know what that means Must remember to write it down, This is so real Like the time Dave floated away See my heart is pounding 'Cause this shit never happens to me! Can't breathe right now It was so real Like I woke up in Wonderland Also a bit terrifying I don't wanna be all alone When I tell this story And can anyone tell me why ya'll sound like Peanuts parents Will I ever be coming down? This is so real Finally it's my lucky day See my heart is racing 'Cause this shit never happens to me I can't breathe right now You believe me don't you Please believe what I just said See the dead ain't tourin' And this wasn't all in my head. See they took me by the hand And invited me right in Then they showed me something I don't even know where to begin Strapped down to my bed Feet cold and eyes red I'm out of my head Am I alive am I dead Can't remember what they said God damn shit the bed High eye (repeated) I believe you (repeated, heard faintly in background) Overwhelmed as one would be Placed in my position Such a heavy burden now to be the one Born to bear and bring to all The details of our ending To write it down for all the world to see. But I forgot my pen Shit the bed again Typical. Strapped down to my bed Feet cold and eyes red I'm out of my head Am I alive am I dead? Sunkist and sudafed Gyroscopes and infrared Won't help the brain-dead Can't remember what they said God damn shit the bed IIIIIII can't remember what they said to me Can't remember what they said to make me out to be a hero Can't remember what he said Bob help me! Can't remember what he said Don't know, won't know (repeated) God damn shit the bed!

Such a beautiful song - lyrics included: http://www.myspace.com/heyrosetta But often it happens you know That the things you don't trust are the ones you need most So it's cautiously into the dark But you see before long that your eyes will adjust And under the night you can hear The full moon rise like a psalm in the air And the air goes into your lungs And around in your heart and on through your blood It goes cautiously into the dark And you see before long that we all have a part And under your skin you can feel That the fear that you feel is what will set you free And under the night you can hear The full moon rise like a psalm in the air And the air goes into your lungs

Pondering what star will bring me where, When will I get there, Who will I find, calling out my name. Take me to see her, The monolith, That knows the tales of my own misery, Crying out now. Europa please, Hear my own screams, How long will I... How will I move on... How will I move on... Rosetta Tharpe (March 20, 1915 October 9, 1973) was a pioneering Gospel singer, songwriter and recording artist who attained great popularity in the 1930s and 1940s with a unique mixture of spiritual lyrics and early rock accompaniment. She became the first great recording star of Gospel music in the late 1930s and also became known as the "original soul sister" of recorded music. Willing to cross the line between sacred and secular by performing her inspirational music of 'light' in the 'darkness' of the nightclubs and concert halls with big bands behind her, her witty, idiosyncratic style also left a lasting mark on more conventional gospel artists, such as Ira Tucker, Sr., of the Dixie Hummingbirds. While she offended some conservative churchgoers with her forays into the world of pop music, she never left gospel music. A number of musicians, ranging from Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis to Isaac Hayes and Aretha Franklin, have identified her—or, more particularly, her singing, guitar playing and showmanship—as an important influence on them. Little Richard referred to the stomping, shouting Gospel music legend as his favorite singer when he was a child. In 1945, she heard Richard sing prior to her concert at the Macon City Auditorium and later invited him on stage to sing with her. Following the show, she paid him for his performance. Johnny Cash's daughter Rosanne similarly stated in an interview with Larry King that Tharpe was her father's favorite singer. She was held in particularly high esteem by UK jazz/blues singer George Melly. Tharpe's performances were curtailed by a stroke in 1970, after which she lost the use of her legs. She died in 1973 after another stroke, on the eve of a scheduled recording session. She was buried in Northwood Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in an unmarked grave. In 2008, a concert was held to raise funds for a marker for her grave and January 11 was declared Sister Rosetta Tharpe Day in Pennsylvania. Crossroads and Rosetta Stone Teach Us a New Language Sam Ketay of bicoastal international Crossroads directs eight time Olympic gold medal winner Michael Phelps for language learning center Rosetta Stone via VGS Creative. Director Sam Katay comments, "We had so little time with Phelps and about eight set ups which gave us no choice but to work quickly and to nail everything in two or three shots. The comedy scenarios were a lot of fun to do with Phelps because he was such a great sport. How many star athletes are willing to rip off tear away jeans? Shooting the swimming at a small shutter angle for effect, I wanted as much movement of water and for Phelps to be really going at it 100%. He kind of laughed at that and told me he only knows of one way to swim." NY-based Crossroads EP Sharon Lew notes, "Sam is just so great with talent... there was a tremendous amount of pressure to get the right shots quickly and he truly rose to the challenge." In Fast, Phelps divulges his need for speed throughout everyday tasks such as walking his dog, cooking meals, and of course, swimming. Learning Mandarin prior to the Beijing Olympics was imperative for Phelps, and Rosetta Stone allowed him to do so at his own comfortable pace.
