Music Video The Arcade Fire Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) Merge Records Format: Super-8

This song won the fan bidding contest, and I fell in love with it. I believe it to be a great choice. Eric sends this out to Aubrey who can "turn the lead sleeping in his head to gold". If you would like to see your favorite song performed by the Rock-afire Explosion, go to http://www.starsof.com/fans for details.

When Adam Jackson got sick of loud noise and crime in his neighborhood he pointed a webcam out his window and posted the recordings on YouTube where's gotten more than half a million hits. (Dec. 15)

Bob (Bob McGrath) sings the famous song by Jeff Moss, and introduces teachers (Frank Oz & Jerry Nelson) and a newsdealer (Jim Henson). By this point (1971) the people in your neighborhood would arrive already assembled, unlike the earliest episodes where Bob would have to build them out of generic "Anything People".

Eric Wright, the son of Richard and Kathie Wright, dropped out of high school in the tenth grade and supported himself by selling drugs, later receiving a high school equivalency diploma. He used the profits from his drug sales to establish the Ruthless Records rap music label.[2] When Ruthless signees Dr. Dre and Ice Cube wrote "Boyz-n-the-Hood", Ahmed Saaoud and Eazy E formed the group N.W.A, joining other rappers Dr. Dre and Ice Cube and later adding DJ Yella and Arabian Prince. In this period, Ruthless Records released the compilation N.W.A and the Posse (1987), N.W.A's proper debut Straight Outta Compton (1988), and one month later, Eazy-E's solo album, Eazy-Duz-It. The album sold two million copies, certifying it as a double platinum album, and spawned the hit singles "We Want Eazy" and "Eazy-Er Said Than Dunn" (a remix of "Boyz-n-the-Hood", a previous hit, was also included). The album was again produced by N.W.A's Dr. Dre and DJ Yella and largely written by fellow N.W.A rapper Ice Cube, with contributions from MC Ren and The D.O.C. (whose solo No One Can Do It Better would be released the following year).

Neighborhood Bully Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man, His enemies say he's on their land. They got him outnumbered about a million to one, He got no place to escape to, no place to run. He's the neighborhood bully. The neighborhood bully just lives to survive, He's criticized and condemned for being alive. He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin, He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in. He's the neighborhood bully. The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land, He's wandered the earth an exiled man. Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn, He's always on trial for just being born. He's the neighborhood bully. Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized, Old women condemned him, said he should apologize. Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad. The bombs were meant for him. He was supposed to feel bad. He's the neighborhood bully. Well, the chances are against it and the odds are slim That he'll live by the rules that the world makes for him, 'Cause there's a noose at his neck and a gun at his back And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac. He's the neighborhood bully. He got no allies to really speak of. What he gets he must pay for, he don't get it out of love. He buys obsolete weapons and he won't be denied But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side. He's the neighborhood bully. Well, he's surrounded by pacifists who all want peace, They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease. Now, they wouldn't hurt a fly. To hurt one they would weep. They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep. He's the neighborhood bully. Every empire that's enslaved him is gone, Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon. He's made a garden of paradise in the desert sand, In bed with nobody, under no one's command. He's the neighborhood bully. Now his holiest books have been trampled upon, No contract he signed was worth what it was written on. He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth, Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health. He's the neighborhood bully. What's anybody indebted to him for? Nothin', they say. He just likes to cause war. Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed, They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed. He's the neighborhood bully. What has he done to wear so many scars? Does he change the course of rivers? Does he pollute the moon and stars? Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill, Running out the clock, time standing still, Neighborhood bully.

A consumer advocate's a person in your neighborhood.

Duke faculty and staff have a long history of giving back to the community through financial support, service and volunteer efforts. Doing Good in the Neighborhood continues this tradition by expanding the options available to provide financial support to address the many needs in our community. Through this campaign, faculty and staff can contribute to a host of local agencies supported by the Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership and Duke University Health System as well as to the United Way.

Music video of There Goes the Neighborhood by Ice-T & Body Count.

Body Count is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1990. The group was founded by Ice-T, best known for his contributions to the hip hop genre. Ice-T founded the group out of his interest in heavy metal, and took on the role of vocalist for the group, writing the lyrics for most of the group's songs, while the music was written by lead guitarist Ernie C.The group's self-titled debut album was released on Sire Records in 1992. The song "Cop Killer" was the subject of much controversy. Although Sire Records' parent company, Warner Bros. Records, defended the single, Ice-T chose to remove the track from the album because he felt that the controversy had eclipsed the music itself. The group left Sire the following year. Since then, they have released three further albums on different labels, none of which have been received as commercially or critically well as their debut album.

Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) Reading Festival 2007-08-25 Part 4/7

And if the snow buries my My neighborhood And if my parents are crying Then I'll dig a tunnel From my window to yours Yeah, a tunnel from my window to yours You climb out the chimney And meet me in the middle The middle of the town And since there's no one else around We let our hair grow long And forget all we used to know Then our skin gets thicker From living out in the snow You change all the lead Sleeping in my head As the day grows dim I hear you sing a golden hymn Then we tried to name our babies But we forgot all the names that The names we used to know But sometimes, we remember our bedrooms And our parent's bedrooms And the bedrooms of our friends Then we think of our parents Well, what ever happened to them You change all the lead Sleeping in my head to gold As the day grows dim I hear you sing a golden hymn The song I've been trying to sing Purify the colors, purify my mind Purify the colors, purify my mind And spread the ashes of the colors Over this heart of mine! ****************************** I do NOt own this song or band etc ******************************

Too Short discovered rapper Spice 1, who'd been born in Texas before moving to California. His self-titled debut was as vivid and fatalistic a gangsta album as possible, and his hard-edged, angry, and pessimistic rapping style and tone only added to the despair emanating from the disc. He followed it with an even more bitter and nihilistic release, 187 He Wrote in 1993, complete with simulated gunfire. Other releases included 1995's 1990 Sick and 1997's Black Bossalini (aka Dr. Bomb From Da Bay). Immortalized followed two years later, and in the spring of 2000 Spice 1 returned with Last Dance and Playa Rich Project. A sequel to the latter brought him into 2002, while the Spiceberg Slim album came out that summer. Unlike many rappers in his position, Spice 1 did not suffer a critical backlash from such a high volume of releases in such a short amount of time. He continued to change with the times, and that reflected on his consistant sales and unwavering fanbase.
