Dublin 2006 Dublin is the capital city of Ireland and is a beautiful old city, but it is growing fast. We hope that it keeps it old charm while becoming a modern cosmopolitan city. This was the second visit to Dublin for Adele and I, the first for Mike. We got from Dalkey to Dublin by the Dart Line getting off at the Tara Station which is in walking distance from O'Connell Street. The best way to get around Dublin to most of the different sites is the Hop-on Hop-off Tour Bus. Some of the sites we visited are on other Slideshows like Kilmainham Prison, Guinness Brewery, Dublin Castle, Christ Church, and St. Patrick Cathedral. We also visited Trinity College with its Book of Kells and the National Museum of Ireland both do not allow picture taking, but are must sees on any visit to Dublin.

Here's Mary Black singing a Phil Colclough song 'Song For Ireland', from a programme Concert with Phil Coulter at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin. The Programme was called 'Songs For Ireland. Recorded in 1986. The first song she recorded. Walking all the day, near tall towers where falcons build their nests Silver winged they fly, they know the call of freedom in their breasts Saw Black Head against the sky with twisted rocks that run down to the sea Living on your western shore, saw summer sunsets, asked for more I stood by your Atlantic sea and sang a song for Ireland Talking all the day with true friends who try to make you stay Telling jokes and news, singing songs to pass the night away Watched the Galway salmon run like silver dancing darting in the sun Living on your western shore saw summer sunsets, asked for more I stood by your Atlantic sea and sang a song for Ireland Drinking all the day in old pubs where fiddlers love to play Someone touched the bow, he played a reel it seemed so fine and gay Stood on Dingle beach and cast in wild foam we found Atlantic bass Living on your western shore, saw summer sunsets asked for more I stood by your Atlantic sea and sang a song for Ireland Dreaming in the night I saw a land where no man had to fight Waking in your dawn I saw you crying in the morning light Lying where the falcons fly, they twist and turn all in you e'er blue sky Living on your western shore, saw summer sunsets asked for more I stood by your Atlantic sea and sang a song for Ireland

http://www.poorclares.ie/page4.html an enclosed contemplative community of Poor Clare sisters whose monastery is in Nuns' Island, Galway, Ireland. In fact we have been here in Galway for centuries, right back to 1642, having come through various stages from our beginnings in Gravelines, northern France, where some young Irish women had gone in search of religious life intent on returning to Ireland when persecution abated. Begun in those far off days, the same life of daily prayer and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, is ours today. http://vocation-station.blogspot.com

Latif Yahia, Internationally recognised as "Saddam's third son" leaves Ireland after residing there for 11 years. Leaving with his Irish wife and children, Latif is disapointed that Ireland was not to become his homeland, having had his three applications for Irish Naturalization refused and the banning of his latest book "The Black Hole" Latif was forced to come to the realization that because of Ireland's extremely close ties with America there was no future for him or his family there.
