Dieses Lied habe ich 2003 geschrieben. "Hätte ich" ist einer der emotionaleren und persönlicheren Songs von mir. Es soll nicht nur an einen traurigen Abschied, sondern auch an die eigene Fehlbarkeit erinnern, mit der wir leben. Zeiten, in denen wir versagen oder glauben, versagt zu haben. Eine Auseinandersetzung mit Schuldgefühlen, Trauer im Tod und neuer Hoffnung. "Dein Grab wird nicht mit Graffiti besprüht. Sie werden dich nicht vergessen. Ich werde dich nicht vergessen. Ich vermisse dich."
