January 6th, 2009 at 00:06:12 He just played in Chicago on Dec 30th with the band Umphrey's Mcgee and he was absolutely incredible. Umphrey's is a high energy prog rock jam band, but their music covers all kinds of genres. They invited Stanley Jordan to play on the 2nd night of their 3 night NYE run and he stole the show. I had never heard of him before but I am a big fan. You guys should search any clips of him playin with Umphrey's. He played Eleanor Rigby.

January 6th, 2009 at 02:24:06 yep, i was there too, and his solo was probably the coolest thing in the whole show.
January 6th, 2009 at 02:47:05 Just got to see him play tonight with Umphrey's McGee in Chicago. He solo'd a bit and weaved in and out of Eleanor Rigby. The guy is amazing. All the "kids" in the crowd, who had no idea who he was, were in awe.

January 6th, 2009 at 05:50:57 I understand where your coming from but no orthodox guitar player can play two parts at the same time this way. I remember when Eddie VanHalen first did his tapping bit I would tell people that he was an amateur at it compared to Jordan.
